Petit Le Mans is the fourth and final round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup. The race lasts 10 hours and takes place on the 2.54mi (4.088km) Road Atlanta track, located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. REBELLION Racing competed in the Petit Le Mans from 2011 to 2013. The Swiss team is a two-time overall winner there, with victories at the 2012 and 2013 editions.
Petit Le Mans (French for “Little” Le Mans) got its name from the fact that between 1998-2012 the winners of this race were automatically invited to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 12-turn, asphalt track is well-known for its quick corners and little run-off. Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup points are awarded at 4 hours, 8 hours and the finish of the race.
No third victory at Petit Le Mans for REBELLION Racing, forced to abandon the race following a shock with another car and a runway exit of the Oreca 07 #13 in the sixth hour.
The long awaited race across the Atlantic is back for its 2017 edition on October 7th. For this IMSA 2017 Final, REBELLION Racing will line up an Oreca 07 LMP2 prototype with a team composed of Nick Heidfeld, Mathias Beche and Gustavo Menezes.
